
Day 2 - The second day of the fortieth Tempest World
Championship brought two races and long waiting times for all
participants. The third race was started at 0900 o’clock as planned with
light South-Easterly winds (Oberwind). For the fourth race the time was
too short before the wind dropped at noon which paralised the fleet for
hours. This must be how the Americas Cup will feel off the coast of the
Emirates. Freshly barbequed, the participants finally started for the
fourth race with generously rounded 2.5 Beaufort at starting time; this
time with Westlery wind (Unterwind). The lead remained almost unchanged
after four races. Frank Weigelt from Germany could defend the lead
followed by the the French boat steered by Philippe Boite and the Swiss
boats steered by Stefan Fels and Mario Suter in positions three an four.
Now there is a 33 year old boat is in the top five. The one design idea

The weather condition changed, storm and wind tells
the forecast. The storm past us on south, but the wind visits us.
